Website: dipiusalo.it

Date of preparation: February 2026

1. Introduction and commitment

Caffè – Residenza Dipiù Salò is committed to making its website accessible and usable by the widest possible audience, including users with disabilities, in line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
We consider digital accessibility an essential part of service quality and a right for all users, now and in the future.

2. Scope of application

This accessibility statement applies to:

  • dipiusalo.it

and covers, in particular:

  • Homepage

  • “Residenza” page (rooms / apartments)

  • Other informational and contact pages linked from the main menu.

3. Compliance status

The website dipiusalo.it is currently partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549 for websites.
Most core content and functions are usable, but automated and manual checks have identified issues that are being addressed through a progressive remediation plan.

4. Non-accessible content and functionalities

4.1 Alternative text for images (WCAG 1.1.1 – Level A)

The ALT-text checks showed that:

  • Some images in the Residenza page slider have non‑descriptive alt attributes made of file codes and must be rewritten in meaningful, human‑readable form.

  • The logo on the homepage has an empty alt attribute and should be updated (for example, to “Caffè – Residenza Dipiù logo”).

This may prevent blind and visually impaired users from understanding visual content. A systematic review of all informative images is planned, with decorative images clearly marked as such.

4.2 Issues found by automated tools (Wave and Lighthouse)

On both Homepage and Residenza templates, the following recurring issues were found:

  • Orphan label (cookie banner): a label related to the cookie banner is not correctly associated with its input field.

  • Skipped heading levels: heading hierarchy jumps (from H2 to H5 on the Homepage and missing H4 on the Residenza page).

  • Redundant links: duplicated links (e.g. “Politica commerciale” and Home button) pointing to the same destination.

  • PDF links: links to PDF documents (e.g. Code of Ethics) without clear indication of format and without fully accessible alternatives.

  • noscript elements: noscript elements still present in the header that need review and eventual removal.

  • Very small text: font sizes for some navigation arrows considered too small for comfortable reading.

  • Lists not properly structured: menus and sections (Menu, data, commercial policy, footer, benefit lists, languages) use lists that are not semantically structured.

  • ARIA menu (language selector): ARIA implementation for the language selector needs optimisation.

  • Hidden ARIA elements: several hidden ARIA elements (CTA “scopri di più”, company data, arrows) require review.

  • ARIA structural error (Lighthouse): roles not contained within the required parent landmarks.

  • Colour contrast errors (social links): insufficient contrast for some social media links in the homepage footer.

  • Indistinguishable link names: accessible names for some links (logo and chatbot) do not clearly describe their purpose.

4.3 Manual keyboard navigation checks

Manual tests of keyboard navigation highlighted:

  • Homepage:

    • Arrow keys: working correctly.

    • Tab key: works, focus is visible, Enter/Space activate interactive elements as expected.

    • Canc/Esc: do not close components, but users can move back using arrow keys.

  • Residenza page:

    • Arrow keys, Tab, Enter/Space: similar behaviour.

    • Canc/Esc: do not work and it is not always possible to go back with arrow keys.

Tab order flows from left to right and then downwards, but focus handling for modals, menus and interactive widgets needs improvement.

5. Assessment methodology

The accessibility of dipiusalo.it was assessed in February 2026 using:

  • Automated tools (Wave and Lighthouse) on Homepage and Residenza (Wave 9.7/10, Lighthouse 90–92/100).

  • Manual tests of keyboard navigation (arrow keys, Tab, Enter/Space, Canc/Esc) and tab order.

  • Specific review of ALT text for logo and main gallery images.

6. Improvement plan

A three‑phase remediation plan is being implemented:

Priority 1 (within 3 months)

  • Rewrite all non‑descriptive ALT texts and add a meaningful alt attribute to the logo.

  • Fix critical ARIA issues (roles not nested correctly).

  • Correct colour contrast errors in social links.

  • Improve accessible names for logo and chatbot links.

Priority 2 (within 6 months)

  • Restructure heading hierarchy across all pages.

  • Reduce and optimise redundant links.

  • Fix cookie banner orphan labels.

  • Correct and semantically mark up lists (menus, benefit lists, data sections).

Priority 3 (within 12 months)

  • Optimise ARIA implementation for the language menu and hidden elements.

  • Improve focus management and support for Canc/Esc in modals and interactive components.

  • Clearly indicate PDF format and, where possible, provide more accessible alternatives.

7. Statement updates

  • Date of preparation: February 2026
